批评何以生产是文学批评之生产性问题的核心之问。自20世纪以来，西方文学批评理论均从不同角度对此作了多元探索，这使中国学界对生产性文学批评理论的探讨无法绕开现代西方批评理论的论域。其中，法国文艺理论家马舍雷突破了语言批评的局限，将考察文本意义生成的视域延伸至社会历史的场域，从文学批评自身的定位、文学批评的对象以及文学批评的任务三方面阐释文学批评的“生产性”特质，特别是从意识形态的维度上表明文学批评就是一种生产活动，为中国学界理解及建构生产性批评理论提供了重要的理论资源。

The question of how criticism is produced lies at the heart of the productive nature of literary criticism. Since the 20^th Century, Western literary criticism theories have explored this question from various angles, making it impossible for Chinese scholars to avoid the domain of modern Western criticism theories when discussing productive literary criticism theories. Among these, French literary theorist Macherey broke through the limitations of linguistic criticism, extending the scope of examining the generation of textual meaning to the social-historical domain. He elucidated the “productive” characteristics of literary criticism from three aspects: the self-positioning of literary criticism, its objects, and its tasks. Particularly from an ideological dimension, he demonstrated that literary criticism is a form of productive activity, providing important theoretical resources for Chinese academia to understand and construct productive criticism theory.
